Hasbergen, Germany - AMAZONEN-Werke H. Dreyer GmbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has expanded its Cirrus Grand range of high-performance large-area seed drills with the introduction of the 8-meter-wide Cirrus 8004-2C Grand. Designed for large farms and contractors, this trailed cultivator is built to work efficiently with tractors of 280 hp and above.
A standout feature of the Cirrus 8004-2C Grand is its 5,900-liter three-chamber hopper, enabling precise metering of up to three products in a 40:50:10 ratio. This allows for single-pass applications, such as rape seed, fertilizer, and slug pellets, or wheat with fertilizer and micro-granules, using the Single-Shoot system. All inputs are delivered accurately into the same seed furrow, ensuring efficient application. The design also offers enhanced flexibility and operator convenience.
The Cirrus 8004-2C Grand offers precise seed placement with a large distributor head and Smart Plus features, ensuring even lateral distribution. Its individual row shut-off reduces seed and fertilizer waste, with flexible tramline control via ISOBUS. Rows can be deactivated for options like double row spacing in rape. It also provides flexible row spacing, 16.6 cm standard or an optional 12.5 cm, ideal for spring sowing and weed suppression, leading to cleaner crops and reduced herbicide use.
The Cirrus 04 Grand now includes the AutoPoint system, which uses a sensor to measure seed travel time from the metering unit to the coulter. It automatically adjusts switch-on/off points at headlands, improving Section Control accuracy and sowing precision while minimizing overlaps and misses for better field hygiene.
The Cirrus 04 Grand offers new front tool options, including a crush board with guide wheels for cloddy soils, and front disc guide wheels for pre-prepared seedbeds. An optional PTO-driven hydraulic system supports low-capacity tractors, while an air pre-heater prevents condensation in damp conditions by raising airflow temperature by 8 °C.
