Gujarat – Ammann India Private Limited., a construction equipment manufacturer, has commenced production of the ARW 65 Walk-Behind Roller at its manufacturing facility in Mehsana. The inauguration ceremony was led by Hans Christian Schneider, Global CEO of Ammann Group, and Dheeraj Panda, Managing Director, Ammann India, along with the company’s senior leadership team.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Ammann India’s strategy to strengthen localized manufacturing and expand its compaction equipment portfolio in line with India’s growing urban and infrastructure development needs. The ARW 65 will be produced locally with around 90 percent localization, adhering to Ammann’s global engineering standards and advanced manufacturing processes to ensure reliable and high-performance compaction solutions tailored for Indian site conditions.
The ARW 65 is a versatile compaction machine designed for small and confined construction sites. With a working width of 650 mm, it operates as a 2-in-1 roller, offering high amplitude for soil and gravel compaction and low amplitude for asphalt applications. The machine is powered by reliable diesel engines from Kohler or Yanmar and features a fully hydraulic drive system that eliminates belts and clutches, reducing maintenance requirements and enhancing reliability.
Additional features include a 60-litre water tank with an integrated sprinkler system for asphalt applications. The roller also incorporates hydrostatic eccentric adjustment with two force levels, improved ergonomics, and enhanced safety features such as a dead-man handle and integrated park brake. With a typical operating weight of approximately 694 kg and a maximum centrifugal force of up to 23 kN, the ARW 65 is well suited for pavement repairs, pathway construction, landscaping, and urban infrastructure projects.
The Mehsana facility has an annual production capacity of 150 units for the ARW 65. The machine will be available in the Indian market from April and will be supported by Ammann India’s nationwide sales and service network.
