Switzerland, Europe - AMMANN GROUP., a construction company, has introduced its first electric-drive reversible plate compactor, the eAPR 20/40, expanding its line of sustainable and efficient construction machinery. This new model brings the benefits of electric power to the compaction world, offering contractors a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient alternative to traditional petrol-driven models.
The eAPR 20/40 offers powerful performance in a compact, lightweight design, easily transportable by passenger vehicles. Its zero-emissions electric drive allows for use indoors and in tight spaces, making it ideal for poorly ventilated or noise-sensitive environments. The durable frame ensures reliability, while the machine provides precise control and handles uneven terrain with ease.
The eAPR 20/40 electric-drive version delivers 20 kN compaction force, matching its petrol counterpart. It features an innovative handle that reduces hand-arm vibration (HAV) to under 2.5 m/sec², ensuring operator comfort and safety. The intuitive, ergonomic handle allows easy push or pull operation and is designed to prevent damage from accidental lifting.
The eAPR 20/40 is powered by a Honda GXE2.0 electric-drive system, offering quick charging and interchangeable batteries compatible with other Ammann Honda e-drive products. The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery ensures safety and reliability, with resistance to high temperatures, overcharging, and mechanical damage, minimizing downtime and enhancing peace of mind for contractors.
The eAPR 20/40 offers key benefits for contractors, including zero emissions, quiet operation for noise-sensitive jobs, and reduced maintenance costs by eliminating fuel and oil filters. Its electric-drive system enhances compaction speed and control, while opening up new business opportunities for projects requiring electric-powered equipment or working in confined spaces.
The eAPR 20/40 is part of Ammann's commitment to sustainable, high-performance construction machinery. It joins a range of electric-drive products, including rammers, plate compactors, a light tandem roller, and the new eABG 4820 electric paver. With this launch, Ammann continues to lead in providing eco-friendly, efficient solutions for contractors.
