Malaysia -Piaggio Group., has introduced an updated version of its SR GT 200 scooter with a focus on visual changes rather than mechanical upgrades. The company has refreshed the model mainly to improve its styling appeal while retaining the same proven performance setup.
The update brings three new colour options: Space White, Savana Grey, and Street Gold. Among these, Street Gold stands out with its bold gold finish on the body panels, sporty graphics, and contrasting red accents on the wheels and rear suspension. Space White offers a clean and premium look, while Savana Grey delivers a more subtle and understated appearance.
The SR GT 200 continues to follow its rugged and adventure-inspired design theme. It features a tall windscreen, large wheels, and an upright seating position designed for comfort and practicality in daily use. The scooter also comes equipped with full LED lighting and a basic digital instrument cluster, along with a seat height of 765mm.
Powering the scooter is a 174cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a four-valve configuration. It produces 17.4bhp and 16.5Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission and belt drive system for smooth and efficient riding performance in both city and highway conditions.
On the hardware side, the SR GT 200 uses disc brakes at both ends for controlled braking performance. It is equipped with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers with preload adjustment. Weighing 144kg, the scooter maintains a balance of practicality and performance, making it suitable for everyday commuting and light touring needs.
