      Ashok Leyland sales down 10% in December

      In its December 2023 update on domestic wholesales, Ashok Leyland revealed a total of 15,323 units for commercial vehicles, indicating a 10% year-on-year (YoY) decrease from the 17,112 units reported in the same month the previous year.

      Chennai- Ashok Leyland Limited., In December 2023, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment recorded 10,102 units, reflecting an 11% year-on-year (YoY) decrease from the 11,399 units reported in December 2022.

      Specifically within the M&HCV segment, truck sales witnessed a 17% decline, totaling 8,379 units in December 2023, compared to the 10,069 units recorded in December 2022.

      Conversely, the buses segment exhibited significant YoY growth, with sales surging by 30% to 1,723 units in December 2023, up from 1,330 units in the same month of the preceding year.

      Meanwhile, the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category experienced a 9% decline, with total sales amounting to 5,221 units in December 2023, as opposed to 5,713 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
