      Chennai- Ashok Leyland Limited., of the Hinduja Group., a commercial vehicle manufacture, In August 2024, domestic vehicle sales. M&HCV truck sales dropped by 17% year-over-year, while M&HCV buses increase by 8%. Cumulatively, M&HCV trucks decreased by 10%, but buses by 53%. The overall M&HCV segment declined by 14% for the month and 1% cumulatively. LCV sales remained steady with a slight 2% cumulative increase. Total domestic vehicle sales fell by 8% in August 2024 compared to August 2023, with cumulative sales remaining almost unchanged.

      In Domestic and export vehicle sales showed mixed performance. M&HCV truck sales dropped by 14%, while M&HCV buses remained flat, leading to an 11% overall decline in the M&HCV segment. Cumulatively, M&HCV trucks decreased by 9%, but buses increase by 34%. LCV sales were stable, with a slight 3% cumulative increase. Overall, total vehicle sales fell by 7% in August, with cumulative sales unchanged compared to the previous year.
