Chennai - Ashok Leyland., the flagship of Hinduja Group and a commercial vehicle provider, has released its December 2024 truck sales report. The company exported 517 units and sold 14,204 MHCV and LCV trucks domestically, reflecting YoY sales growth of 26.41% and 5.73%, respectively.
In December 2024, Ashok Leyland sold 8,979 MHCV trucks in the domestic market, reflecting a 9% YoY increase from 8,219 units in December 2023. The company also sold 5,225 LCVs domestically, showing a modest rise of just 4 units from the 5,221 sold in December 2023. The brand sold 14,204 trucks domestically, marking a 5.73% YoY growth from 13,434 units sold in December 2023.
In December 2024, Ashok Leyland exported 259 M&HCVs, marking a remarkable 144.34% YoY increase from 106 units exported in December 2023. However, LCV exports declined by 14.85%, with 258 units exported last month compared to 303 units in December 2023. Overall, the company’s total commercial vehicle exports grew by 26.41% YoY, rising from 409 units in December 2023 to 517 units in December 2024.
When considering both domestic and international sales, Ashok Leyland’s total sales grew by 6.34% YoY, from 13,843 units in December 2023 to 14,721 units in December 2024. The company saw an 11% YoY increase in M&HCV sales, selling 9,238 units in December 2024 compared to 8,319 units in December 2023. However, LCV sales slightly declined by 1% YoY, with 5,483 units sold in December 2024, down from 5,524 units in December 2023.
In December 2024, Ashok Leyland sold 11,474 MHCV trucks and buses, an 8% YoY increase from 10,630 units in December 2023. Overall, the brand’s truck and bus sales reached 16,957 units, reflecting a 5% YoY growth.
