Bologna, Italy - Assodimi/Assonolo., a rental machinery association, has officially joined FederAcma, the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Dealers. The agreement, signed in September, was announced at the 46th EIMA International event by FederAcma President Andrea Borio and Assodimi/Assonolo Director Marco Prosperi.

The membership aims to enhance representation and collaboration on issues related to work vehicle sales. The agricultural machinery market is struggling, and explore all opportunities, including rental, though there's still much to be done in the sector.

Prosperi agrees, noting that rental has grown significantly, from €1.8 billion in 2020 to an estimated €3 billion in 2024, with further growth expected in 2025. While earthmoving machinery dominates, the agricultural sector remains steady, making up around 10% of the total. We joined Federacma to gain a clearer picture.

Agricultural equipment is the most commonly rented vehicle, followed by low-power tractors, while rentals of high-power tractors and combine harvesters remain limited.

Prosperi concluded, "Renting is an opportunity, but it is necessary not to improvise. We need precise contracts, adequate protections and adequate remunerations because without these characteristics there is a risk of having returns and management problems".
