Bengaluru- Ather Energy Limited., an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the Rizta S 3.7kWh, a new mid-spec variant. This addition is designed for customers who want a longer range than the base 2.9kWh model, but without the added cost of premium features found in the top-spec Rizta Z 3.7kWh.
The new Rizta S 3.7kWh uses the same larger 3.7kWh battery as the Z trim and offers an impressive IDC range of 159 km. However, to maintain a competitive price point, it skips some of the cosmetic enhancements and tech features like the colour TFT touchscreen found in the Z variant. Still, it comes well-equipped with essentials such as a 7-inch DeepView LCD screen, AutoHold, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), turn-by-turn navigation, and Ather’s FallSafe feature.
In terms of performance, the Rizta S 3.7kWh remains identical to the Z trim. It delivers 4.3 kW peak power, 22 Nm torque, a top speed of 80 km/h, and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. These figures are unchanged regardless of battery size across the S and Z variants. Riders will also benefit from 15-degree gradeability, making it suitable for urban slopes and flyovers.
The practical aspects of the Rizta remain untouched in the S 3.7kWh. It continues to offer a spacious 34-litre under-seat storage, a wide and comfortable seat, and access to Ather Grid’s 4,100+ fast-charging points across India. Charging the scooter from 0-80% takes around 4.5 hours using the Ather Duo charger, while a quick top-up via the Ather Grid can deliver 15 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Ather is also offering its Eight70 battery warranty program as an add-on with the Pro Pack, which extends the battery coverage to 8 years or 80,000 km, up from the standard 3 years or 30,000 km warranty. This makes the Rizta S 3.7kWh an attractive choice for long-term ownership.
The scooter runs on Ather’s custom Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and features 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, and an IP65-rated LCD display. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, turn-by-turn navigation, document storage, anti-theft alerts, and more. It also supports OTA updates through Atherstack, ensuring the scooter improves over time with new features and upgrades
