Bengaluru- Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has taken a significant step in its global expansion strategy with the launch of the 2025 Ather 450X in Sri Lanka, further strengthening its international presence after entering Nepal in late 2023. The company forayed into Sri Lanka in December 2024 with its flagship scooter, the Ather 450X, and has since rapidly expanded to 19 Experience Centres across the country in partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd., its national distributor. Alongside this expansion, Ather has also been building a robust charging infrastructure to establish a reliable EV ecosystem and deliver convenience to Sri Lankan customers.

Speaking on the development, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, highlighted the overwhelming response received in Sri Lanka’s strong scooter market and emphasized how the fast-tracked distribution has made Ather’s products more accessible. The newly launched 2025 Ather 450X comes with notable upgrades, including a multi-mode traction control system with Rain, Road, and Rally modes designed for diverse riding conditions, an improved TrueRange™ for enhanced efficiency, and newly developed multi-compound tyres co-created with MRF to deliver superior grip, performance, and range. These features strengthen Ather’s strategy of offering scooters that combine performance, reliability, and adaptability to local terrain, making the 450X a strong fit for Sri Lanka’s riding environment.

Ather’s international journey began in Nepal, where it now operates 9 Experience Centres and recently introduced its family scooter, the Rizta. On the domestic front, the company continues to scale rapidly, with 446 Experience Centres and nearly 4,000 Ather Grid fast and neighbourhood chargers across India, reinforcing its dual focus on innovative products and ecosystem development. With the launch of the 2025 Ather 450X in Sri Lanka, Ather Energy has further cemented its position as a frontrunner in South Asia’s electric mobility sector, setting the stage for accelerated international growth.
