Bengaluru -Atul Auto Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Exponent Energy Private Limited to develop and deploy fast-charging electric three-wheelers for India’s commercial mobility sector. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by combining advanced rapid-charging technology with reliable three-wheeler manufacturing.

As part of this initiative, the companies plan to roll out 15,000 electric passenger three-wheelers over the next three years. This large-scale deployment is expected to strengthen the presence of electric vehicles in India’s last-mile transportation segment.

The upcoming vehicles will be powered by Exponent Energy’s OTO mobility platform, which integrates battery systems, powertrain components, and intelligent vehicle software into a single, efficient solution. Initially tested through retrofit models, this technology will now be directly implemented in new vehicles at the manufacturing stage.

A key highlight of this partnership is the 15-minute rapid charging capability, which significantly reduces downtime and improves operational efficiency for drivers. In addition, the vehicles are designed to support multiple charging options, including Exponent’s rapid charging network as well as standard public and home charging infrastructure.

To further enhance reliability, the battery system is backed by a ₹2 lakh warranty, addressing major concerns related to battery performance, lifespan, and resale value. These improvements are expected to lower the total cost of ownership and increase earning potential for commercial drivers.

Exponent Energy has also introduced Exponent One, a dedicated EV financing platform led by Sandeep Divakaran. The platform offers simplified financing solutions, insurance support, and structured buyback options, making it easier for customers to adopt electric vehicles.

Mr. Arun Vinayak, CEO and Founder of Exponent Energy, said, "Our partnership with Atul Auto brings together fast-changing technology, financing solutions, and scalable vehicle platforms. We are focused on making electric mobility more practical and accessible, while solving key challenges that have slowed EV adoption in the commercial segment."

Mr. Neeraj Chandra, Managing Director of Atul Auto, said, "Atul Auto has always focused on delivering reliable and efficient vehicles to our customers. By partnering with Exponent Energy, we are introducing advanced charging technology that enhances performance, improves customer value, and supports the transition to sustainable mobility."

Overall, this partnership represents a significant step towards making electric three-wheelers more efficient, affordable, and convenient. By combining strong manufacturing capabilities with cutting-edge charging technology, both companies aim to drive the next phase of electric mobility growth in India’s commercial vehicle market.
