Atul Greentech, Valeo India, and HEID launch MOBILI SWAP & ENERGIE SWAP e-three-wheelers with battery-swapping tech, eliminating charging downtime and boosting EV adoption in India.
Date: February 26, 2025Gujarat- Atul Greentech Private Limited (Atul)., Valeo India Private Limited (Valeo)., and Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) have partnered to commercialize electric three-wheelers with advanced battery-swapping technology. This initiative aims to reduce charging downtime, making electric vehicle (EV) adoption more practical and efficient for urban transportation in India.
The companies plan to integrate HEID’s advanced battery-swapping solutions with Valeo’s compact powertrain and Atul’s efficient vehicle manufacturing to offer a seamless and sustainable transport solution.
The partnership has introduced two new electric three-wheelers designed to enhance efficiency and convenience in the EV sector. MOBILI SWAP, intended for passenger transport, offers a 79-kilometer range per battery exchange, while ENERGIE SWAP, designed for cargo transport, provides a 74-kilometer range per swap. These vehicles tackle a key challenge in EV adoption charging downtime by enabling users to replace depleted batteries instantly at designated swap stations, eliminating the need to wait for charging.
Mr. Vijay Kedia, Director of Atul Auto, said, “Interchangeable products will revolutionize the electric vehicle sector. They will increase customer revenues by eliminating charging downtime. An extensive network of exchange stations will reduce range anxiety. As the battery remains company-owned, customers benefit from lower vehicle costs and reduced warranty obligations.”
Mr. Jayakumar G, Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, said, “This three-way engagement brings together the expertise required to accelerate the electrification of three-wheeler vehicles and reduce CO2 emissions. Valeo’s advanced electric powertrain technology, adapted for the Indian market, strengthens our commitment to this growing sector.”
Mr. Tomohide Haraguchi, Vice President of HEID, said, “HEID’s swappable batteries leverage Honda’s long-accumulated expertise in automotive engineering. Combined with Valeo’s cutting-edge powertrain technology, we are delivering an automobile-grade electric solution for India’s e-three-wheeler market.”
This initiative represents a significant step toward making electric mobility more accessible and practical, especially for last-mile connectivity and urban logistics. By eliminating long charging times and reducing operational costs, this collaboration supports India’s push towards cleaner and greener transportation.
With a strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, and user convenience, Atul Greentech, Valeo India, and HEID are set to redefine the future of electric three-wheelers in India.
