Bajaj Auto Reappoints Mr. Rajivnayan Bajaj as MD & CEO and Mr. Abhinav Bindra as Independent Director

Gujarat- Bajaj Auto Ltd., a two- and three-wheeler manufacturers, has announced the reappointment of Mr. Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj as Managing Director & CEO and Mr. Abhinav Bindra as Non-executive Independent Director, following the Board of Directors' approval based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Both reappointments are subject to shareholder approval.
The reappointment of Rajivnayan Bajaj marks a continuation of his impactful leadership at Bajaj Auto. His new term, effective from April 1, 2025, will extend for five consecutive years until March 31, 2030. Similarly, Abhinav Bindra’s second term as Non-executive Independent Director will be effective from May 20, 2025, and will continue until May 19, 2030.
Mr. Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj, an alumnus of COEP, graduated first in his class with a distinction in Mechanical Engineering (1988) and later earned a Master’s in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK (1991). He joined Bajaj Auto in 1990, holding key roles across Manufacturing, R&D, and Marketing before becoming Managing Director in April 2005. Under his leadership, Bajaj Auto expanded its market reach, introduced innovative products, and earned industry accolades, including being named “Outstanding Company of the Year” at the IBLA 2024 by CNBC-TV18.
Mr. Abhinav Bindra, India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist, brings exceptional leadership to the Bajaj Auto board. During his two-decade career, he won 150+ medals, including gold at Beijing 2008 and a fourth-place finish at Rio 2016. Bindra’s accolades include the Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Blue Cross (ISSF) in 2018, and the Olympic Order in 2024.
Post-retirement, he founded the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Centres for sports rehabilitation and the Abhinav Bindra Foundation Trust (ABFT), supporting grassroots athletes with sports science. His values-based education initiatives with the IOC and state governments have impacted 10+ million students in Odisha and Assam.
