Pune - Bajaj Auto Ltd., an automobile company, launches Next-Gen Chetak Electric Scooter with 153km Range. Built on a new platform, the updated Chetak comes with enhanced features and is offered in three variants.

The next-generation Chetak features a new frame housing a 3.5kWh battery, now positioned under the floorboard. Bajaj Auto boasts an improved range of 153km, paired with a 950W charger that enables a 0-80% charge in just 3 hours. The updated battery is also 3kg lighter than before.

The new Chetak retains its 4kW motor and similar performance, with a top speed of 73kph for the top variants and 63kph for the base model. A floor-mounted battery frees up space, offering a 35-litre boot—one of the largest in its class. The wheelbase has increased by 25mm to 1350mm, and the seat is now 80mm longer.

The top-spec Chetak 3501 variant introduces features like a TFT display with integrated maps, Bluetooth, screen mirroring, document storage, geo-fencing, theft alerts, and overspeed warnings. It comes with a 3-year/50,000km warranty. Prices for two variants have been announced, with the base 3503 variant set to launch later. The Chetak competes with TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, Ampere Nexus, and Ola S1 models.

Bajaj Auto sold 113,331 more Chetaks from January to November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, outperforming TVS Motor Co's 48,652 additional units. With December sales, Bajaj is set to become the third EV OEM to surpass 200,000 sales this year, leading the charts in early December.
