Bajaj Freedom 125, the world's first motorcycle with both petrol and CNG capabilities, featuring a 125cc engine, dual fuel tanks, and advanced features like LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity
Date: July 5, 2024Pune- Bajaj Auto Limited, an automotive manufacturing company has launched the Bajaj Freedom 125, the world's first motorcycle that operates on both petrol and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), offering riders the ability to switch fuels with a simple button press.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 features a 125cc engine producing 9.5hp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. It stands out with its ability to switch between CNG and petrol fuels, supported by a 2-litre petrol tank and a 2kg CNG tank (16kg empty, 18kg full). Claiming a range of 330km, it offers 102km per kg mileage on CNG and 65km per litre efficiency on petrol, making it a versatile and economical choice for riders seeking fuel flexibility and efficiency in daily commuting.
The Freedom 125 features a robust trellis frame cradling its CNG tank, acting as a protective cage. It weighs 147kg in total, which is 16kg more than the CT125X. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a linked monoshock at the rear. Its seat height of 825mm is 15mm higher than that of the CT125X.
The motorcycle features a complete LED headlight and taillight, supplemented by halogen indicators. Its instrument panel is a monochrome LCD display that offers Bluetooth connectivity. Bajaj has integrated dual fuel tank access through a large flap atop the tank, which conveniently also allows access to the air filter.
The Freedom 125 is available in three versions: Disc LED, Drum LED, and Drum, offering a selection of seven dual-tone color combinations across all variants. It features a 785mm single-piece seat, claimed by Bajaj to be the longest in its category. Bookings for the Freedom 125 are now open at all dealerships and on the Bajaj website, starting today.
