Bergwerff expands Fleet with Kässbohrer Huckepack Curtainsiders

Kässbohrer has teamed up with Bergwerff Transport Service, which acquired ten huckepack curtainsiders (K.SCS M) for efficient rail transport to Italy, enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency.

Ulm, Germany- Karl Kässbohrer Fahrzeugwerke GmbH., (Kässbohrer) has recently partnered with Bergwerff Transport Service B.V., based in Breda, the Netherlands, to enhance intermodal transport efficiency. Bergwerff has purchased ten Kässbohrer huckepack curtainsiders (K.SCS M), specifically designed for intermodal operations, which are now actively transporting goods via rail to Italy.

Kässbohrer engineered its K.SCS M as a curtainside mega semi-trailer to optimize the just-in-time delivery challenges. Its robust chassis is suitable for every road condition and protected against corrosion with its KTL coating, covered by a 10 years warranty on no rust perforation. Its intermodal configuration with train loading brackets for intermodal transportation increases overall efficiency and is the perfect choice for eco-conscious fleets. Its special XLS curtains provide EN 12642 XL certification without the need to install side planks between the middle pillars, offering easy access to the load: the side curtain can be easily slid open, allowing the loading process to begin faster. With no side planks required, the risk of losing them is eliminated as well, and the driver will save both time and energy during the loading process. For increased cargo safety, the vehicle can equipped with options such as an immobilizer and anti-theft curtain.
