BMW Launch all new CE 02 in India

National- BMW Motorrad., has officially launched the all-new CE 02 in India, priced at ₹4.50 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). This model sits below the recently introduced CE 04 and is designed to make a significant impact in the growing EV market with its futuristic look, innovative features, and durable battery. Produced in collaboration with TVS at their manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, the CE 02 aims to attract riders seeking a practical urban commuting solution. Bookings for the new CE 02 are now open, and interested customers can reserve their vehicle through authorized BMW Motorrad dealerships.

The CE 02 is more compact than the CE 04, featuring a design that blends elements of both scooters and motorcycles. Its minimalist aesthetic is highlighted by a limited number of body panels, providing plenty of open space. A flat seat and a robust headlamp design enhance its modern appeal. The scooter is available in two color options: Cosmic Black and Cosmic Black 2. Buyers can choose between two trims, with the Highline package offering a premium experience. The standard model comes equipped with LED lighting, a USB Type-C charging port, two ride modes (Flow and Surf), single-channel ABS, stability control, reverse mode, keyless operation, an anti-theft alarm, and a 3.5-inch micro TFT display. The Highline package adds a third ride mode called Flash, contrasting colored tapes, golden anodized forks, a tri-colored seat, heated grips, a smartphone holder, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The BMW CE 02 features an air-cooled, current-excited synchronous motor powered by two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries with a voltage of 48V and a total energy capacity of 3.9 kWh. This setup delivers a maximum power output of 15 bhp and peak torque of 55 Nm. The CE 02 claims an impressive range of 108 km (as per ICAT) and can reach a top speed of 95 km/h. The scooter has a seat height of 745 mm and weighs 142 kg, with a 0-50 km/h acceleration time of just 3 seconds. Charging from 0% to 100% takes 5 hours and 12 minutes using a standard 0.9 kW charger. For quicker charging, the Highline package includes a 1.5 kW quick charger, allowing the battery to reach 20%-80% state of charge in just 102 minutes.

On the hardware front, the CE 02 is built on a double-loop steel frame, featuring a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear for suspension. It is equipped with a 239 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc for effective braking. The scooter rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels, with 120/80 section tyres at the front and 150/70 section tyres at the rear.
