BMW India has launched the new 7 Series range in India with petrol and all-electric powertrains. The lineup includes the BMW 740, BMW i7 50 xDrive and the high-performance BMW i7 M70 xDrive, with deliveries starting in October 2026.

Gurugram, India- BMW India., has launched the new BMW 7 Series range in India, introducing petrol and all-electric powertrain options. The lineup also includes the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, making it the most powerful 7 Series model offered by BMW.
The new 7 Series was unveiled by actor Ranveer Singh, who was also introduced as the Brand Voice for BMW India. The launch brings BMW’s latest luxury technologies and design updates to its flagship sedan range.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The new BMW 7 Series is more than our flagship sedan - it is our ultimate statement of modern luxury. It moves the leaders, changemakers and visionaries who are shaping tomorrow. With our Power of Choice philosophy, customers can choose from dynamic combustion engines to advanced electric mobility.”
The new BMW 7 Series features the BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille, BMW Crystal Headlights and the latest BMW Panoramic iDrive system with BMW Operating System X. The interior also includes a 17.9-inch central display, BMW Passenger Screen and BMW 3D Head-Up Display.
The rear cabin features a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen combined with the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos. Other features include automatic doors with radar-based technology, a Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof and Executive Lounge rear seats.
The new BMW 740 is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine producing 400 hp and 540 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
The BMW i7 50 xDrive M Sport produces 455 hp and 660 Nm of torque. Its 112.5kWh battery provides a claimed range of up to 728km WLTP, while the BMW i7 M70 xDrive delivers 680 hp and up to 1,100 Nm of torque in Launch Control or Sport Boost mode. The i7 M70 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and offers a claimed WLTP range of 686km.
BMW has also announced that the BMW i7 will now be locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, making India the only country outside Germany where the i7 is locally produced. The i7 M70 xDrive will be available as a completely built-up unit.
The new BMW 7 Series range is priced from Rs. 1.95 crore, while the BMW i7 M70 xDrive is priced at Rs. 2.65 crore, ex-showroom. Bookings are open through BMW India dealerships, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October 2026.
Mr. Brar further added, “The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive is the most powerful 7 Series ever created - where M performance meets first-class luxury, without compromise. It brings together exhilarating electric performance and the refinement expected from the pinnacle of the BMW portfolio.”
The new BMW 7 Series range combines petrol and electric powertrains with updated luxury, digital technologies and advanced driver assistance systems, expanding BMW’s flagship sedan portfolio in India.
