Munich, Cernobbio -BMW Motorrad., unveiled the Vision K18 concept motorcycle at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. The company said the concept represents a new approach to performance, luxury, and long-distance riding with a futuristic and emotional design theme.
The Vision K18 is built around a 1,800 cc inline six-cylinder engine, which serves as the centerpiece of the motorcycle’s overall design. BMW Motorrad said the engine inspired the entire concept, with the proportions and styling developed to highlight the powertrain and engineering details.
The motorcycle features a long and aerodynamic silhouette inspired by high-speed aircraft such as the Concorde. The concept includes six air intakes, six tailpipes, and six LED headlights to visually emphasize the inline six-cylinder architecture. BMW Motorrad also used handcrafted aluminum body panels, forged carbon materials, and exposed technical components to create a premium appearance.
BMW Motorrad said the Vision K18 follows its “Full Force Forward” design philosophy, focusing on forward motion and high-performance styling. The concept also introduces the theme “The Heat of Speed,” which visually represents the power and speed of the motorcycle through its design and presentation.
Mr. Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, said, “the Vision K18 showcases the company’s interpretation of performance, luxury, and emotion in a bold new way. He added that the inline six-cylinder engine remains a key part of BMW Motorrad’s identity and reflects the brand’s ambition to push the boundaries of motorcycle design and engineering.”
