New Delhi-BMW Motorrad India has unveiled the new R 1300 GS adventure bike ahead of its launch next month in India. The 2024 BMW R 1300 GS is the latest flagship adventure bike from BMW, succeeding the R 1250 GS. With a larger engine, new design, and improved rideability, it's expected to arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The new BMW R 1300 GS is powered by a larger 1,300 cc twin-cylinder Boxer engine, delivering 145 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. Its suspension system has been updated to feature fully adjustable units at the front and rear - EVO telelever and EVO paralever, respectively. Additionally, the dynamic suspension package provides damping and spring preload adjustability while riding, along with seat height adjustment at low speeds.
The key feature of New BMW R 1300 GS is radar-based adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, lane depature warning, and active cruise control along with Riding Assistant package. Additionally, the motorcycle will boast various electronic systems such as ABS, traction control, a 6.5-inch TFT screen and four riding modes.
The BMW R 1300 GS features a revamped appearance, with new X-motif LED DRLs and a sleeker design. Its innovative frame, with a sheet metal shell mainframe and aluminium rear subframe, enhances rigidity and reduces weight by 12 kg compared to the R 1250 GS.
