Bobcat Expands Large Wheel Loader Market with Four-Model Lineup
Bobcat has launched the L205, L235, L255, and L285 large wheel loaders for heavy-duty applications in construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.

West Fargo, United States - Doosan Bobcat Inc., a compact equipment manufacturer, has launched a new range of large wheel loaders, marking its entry into the heavy-duty loader market. The lineup includes the L205, L235, L255, and L285 models, all designed to handle demanding tasks across industries like construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.
The Bobcat L205, L235, L255, and L285 large wheel loaders feature various specifications designed to cater to different operational needs. All models are powered by Tier 4 emissions-compliant, liquid-cooled diesel engines with horsepower ranging from 142 hp (L205) to 189 hp (L285). The rated operating capacities with buckets vary, with the L205 handling 11,535 lbs and the L285 reaching up to 13,682 lbs.
Tipping capacities range from 10,185 lbs for the L205 to 24,121 lbs for the L285, with bucket capacities spanning from 2.5 to 5.5 cubic yards. These loaders also offer different drive types, such as hydrostatic (L205) and power shift (L235, L255, L285), providing high flexibility in operations.
The L205 and L235 models feature a maximum forward speed of 23.6 mph, while the L255 and L285 can reach up to 24.2 mph. With hydraulic systems that provide a maximum flow rate of 40.9 gpm and pressures ranging from 3843 psi to 4351 psi, these machines are designed for efficient performance in tough conditions. Other notable features include keyless entry, a fuel tank capacity of 62.1 gallons, and an additional DEF tank with varying capacities across models.
The L235, L255, and L285 models are equipped with advanced transmission systems, offering three modes: Manual, Auto 1-4, and Auto 2-4, giving operators flexibility for various tasks. Additionally, all models offer three power modes - Power, Normal, and Economy, allowing users to balance performance and fuel efficiency depending on job requirements.
Bobcat has designed these models with operator comfort in mind. The spacious cabs come with adjustable air suspension seats, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and user-friendly joystick controls. A high-resolution 8-inch touchscreen display, rearview camera, automatic climate control, LED work lights, and Bluetooth connectivity are standard features, ensuring an ergonomic and efficient work environment.
With these new large wheel loaders, Bobcat strengthens its position in the heavy equipment market, offering versatile solutions for demanding projects while complementing its existing compact loader lineup.
