St. Louis, Missouri – BOMAG GmbH., a construction machinery manufacturer, introduced its new 8-foot CR820T-2 rubber-track paver at the 2025 World of Asphalt in St. Louis, designed for contractors looking to take on bigger paving projects.

The BOMAG CR820T-2 comes equipped with a robust 10-ton hopper and is powered by a 173-horsepower engine, delivering the performance needed for demanding paving applications. It offers variable paving widths of up to 16 feet, making it ideal for handling a wide range of large-scale projects with flexibility and efficiency.

Mr. Zachary Watson, BOMAG Americas paving product manager, said, “The CR802T-2 is great for contractors looking to enter the highway paving market. An 8-foot paver of this size is perfect to start doing highway jobs, but also still be able to do the jobs that they are comfortable with, it really allows you to kind of take that step up to the next level without going too big.”

A notable addition to the CR paver lineup is the independent auger conveyor control system, enhancing material flow precision and paving consistency. According to Watson, experienced operators will recognize familiar features from earlier models, blending proven design elements with modern upgrades for improved performance and ease of use.

The CR pavers now feature a new outboard-driven auger system, borrowed from BOMAG’s CR Remix pavers. This design shifts the auger chain boxes to the outside of the machine, clearing the center of the auger tunnel and helping to eliminate centerline segregation for a more uniform mat.

Another key upgrade is the enhanced human-machine interface. The new BOMAG A-Pave panel enables seamless integration with MOBA automation systems, eliminating the need for a separate control box on the screed and simplifying operation for the user. The new A-Pave panel clears up the screed area and offers plug-and-play functionality. Operators can set all MOBA parameters, control feed, and adjust auger and conveyor speeds directly from the panel for balanced, efficient paving.
