Auburn Hills, United States- BorgWarner Inc., an American supplier of automotive and e-mobility solutions has strengthened its position in dual clutch module technology with two key wins in China: a seven-year contract extension with a German OEM and a new program with a major Chinese transmission manufacturer.

The extended partnership with the German automaker, built on a decade of collaboration, highlights BorgWarner’s proven expertise in DCT systems for both internal combustion and mild hybrid vehicles. Manufactured at the Tianjin facility, the upgraded clutch assembly reduces drag torque and boosts transmission efficiency through lower friction, leakage, and rotational inertia.

Additionally, BorgWarner secured a new DCT clutch module program for a Chinese OEM’s SUVs and sedans, targeting both domestic and export markets. Produced at the Taicang plant, the module features a compact design, thermal durability, and cost-efficiency—enabling smooth shifting, strong hill-starts, and high-performance launches. Mass production will begin by the end of 2025.

These milestones reaffirm BorgWarner’s leadership in wet DCT technology and its commitment to innovative, high-value drivetrain solutions.

Ms. Isabelle McKenzie, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager, Drivetrain and Morse Systems. “Our success in securing new projects in the Chinese market underscores BorgWarner's commitment to delivering innovative solutions in the region. We are dedicated to helping our customers grow their business in China and succeed in international markets.”
