BPCL and IONAGE extended their partnership to enhance the accessibility of EV charging platform in India
Date: September 23, 2024Mumbai- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), an Indian oil marketing company, has extended their partnership with India's unified EV charging platform (IONAGE), a prominent e-Mobility service provider based in Bangalore. This aims in strengthening the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Indian subcontinent. The major goal is to IONAGE's vision is to integrate over 100,000 EV chargers into its platform by 2028.
Earlier the BPCL’s BPC eDrive Initiative, launched in February 2022 which includes a partnership with Bounce Infinity to set up "eDrive stores" at BPCL fuel stations and a mobile app called the BPCL Drive app. This app helps users find chargers based on their location, preferred connector type, and station availability. The succession of this initiative let to the partnership, integrating BPCL's EV chargers into IONAGE's platform.
The partnership aims to provide charging stations from various Charge Point Operators (CPOs), to easy the life of EV owners providing them with the accessibility to a vast network of EV chargers in a single platform.

The agreement was signed by Shri S. Kannan, Chief General Manager Marketing (Retail), BPCL, and Shri Vimal Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, IONAGE, in the presence of Shri Pardeep Goyal, Business Head, Retail, BPCL.
Through this India is making a transformation towards sustainable development with the advanced electric mobility, driven by government support and increasing consumer demand, helping the country to achieve its ambitious EV adoption goals by 2030.
