Strefowa 2, Poland- Brose Sitech sp. z o.o., which develops and manufactures complete seating systems, inaugurated its second production facility in China with attendees from politics, business, and the media. The newly established company, Brose Sitech (Anhui) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., located in Hefei, Anhui province, will initially produce seat systems for the all-electric Cupra Tavascan. Series production is set to commence in December 2023, and there are plans for additional projects with Volkswagen Anhui. The goal is to further expand collaborations with other clients through this new facility.

The current production capacity stands at approximately 650,000 seats annually, which will be supplied to the nearby Volkswagen plant in synchronization with vehicle manufacturing. Additionally, the facility will produce approximately 1.2 million front-seat structures. Brose Sitech Anhui recently secured two new orders in May, contributing to increased capacity utilization and sales in the region.

Thomas Spangler, CEO of the Brose Sitech Group, emphasized the significance of Anhui as a key production hub in the Chinese automotive industry and highlighted China's global market importance. He stated that the Anhui plant is a vital strategic move in their growth strategy, aiming to showcase product quality and competitive capabilities in a challenging market environment.

Aside from the new Anhui plant, the joint venture in China already operates a facility in Shanghai, supplying seat systems and related components to the customer, SAIC-Volkswagen. Brose Sitech operates a research and development center in Shanghai.
