New Delhi – The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), headquartered in New Delhi, has mandated 1 cm green stickers on vehicle window shades to help differentiate environmentally friendly vehicles from those with lower emission standards. This initiative aims to promote cleaner transportation and facilitate easier identification of vehicles compliant with BS-VI emission norms.

The color-coded sticker system will apply to all vehicles, with light blue stickers for petrol and CNG vehicles and orange stickers for diesel vehicles, while electric vehicles (EVs) will continue using green number plates. The regulation is set to take effect from October 1, 2020, and is expected to aid in enforcement, encourage eco-friendly choices, and support pollution control measures.
