Shenzhen, China – BYD Company Ltd., premium brand DENZA will launch its flagship electric model, the DENZA Z9GT, in Europe at an event scheduled to be held at the Palais Garnier on April 8. DENZA announced that the model will debut with its new FLASH Charging technology, based on the concept “Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3,” aimed at reducing electric vehicle charging time.

Mr. Wang Chuanfu, BYD Chairman and CEO, said, "the FLASH Charging system uses a new charging station capable of up to 1,500kW power along with the second-generation Blade Battery. He said the updated lithium-iron-phosphate battery improves charging speed, energy density, and performance in different temperatures while reducing battery wear."

The company said the system can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in about five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. Even at −30°C, the battery can charge from 20% to 97% in around 12 minutes. The company said this technology is developed to make electric vehicle charging faster and more convenient.

The Z9GT is built on DENZA’s e3 platform and uses a 122kWh Blade Battery with a range of up to 800km in the rear-wheel-drive version. The triple-motor version produces more than 960PS and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than three seconds, placing the model in the premium electric performance segment.

Ms. Stella Li, BYD Executive Vice President, said, "the launch of the Z9GT in Europe is an important step for the brand. She said the model shows the company’s focus on technology, performance, and design, and added that FLASH Charging stations will also be introduced in global markets to support future electric vehicles."
