Chennai- BYD India., a subsidiary of BYD, a maker of new energy vehicles, marked its 10th year anniversary in the Electric Vehicle (EV) market in India.

BYD launched its operations in India in 2007 with the electronics industry, eventually expanding to other industries. The first pure electric electric bus from BYD India arrived in Chennai on August 20, 2013, marking the beginning of India's transition to electric public transportation. The company has grown into a wide range of goods over the years, including electric passenger vehicles, e-buses, e-trucks, and e-forklifts, solidifying its position as an up-and-coming market leader in the Indian EV sector.

BYD India also opened its new office in Gurugram on the 10th anniversary of its EV journey in India, underscoring the company's commitment to the Indian market. The operations, innovations, and partnerships of BYD will be centered here, further enhancing the brand's relationships with regional partners, clients, and stakeholders.

In total, BYD produced almost 5 million NEVs, preventing an astounding 38 billion kg of carbon emissions. Through its electric passenger cars, electric forklifts, electric lorries, and electric buses that are powered by BYD's battery, powertrain, and chassis technologies, the business has contributed to a reduction of 274 million kg of CO2 emissions in India alone. In India, the overall driving distance of BYD's electric buses has exceeded 126,883,681 km, with the longest driving distance exceeding 469,668 km.
