BYD Launched Sealion 7 Electric SUV in India

BYD has launched the Sealion 7 electric SUV, featuring a coupe design, Ocean-X styling, and alloy wheels, with bookings open and deliveries starting March 7, 2025.

Tamil Nadu - BYD Company Limited., an electric vehicles manufacturer, has launched the Sealion 7, an electric SUV with a coupe-style roofline.

The Sealion 7 adopts a crossover design with a sloping roofline and Ocean-X design language, similar to the Seal electric sedan. Its styling features X-shaped elements in the front bumper, headlights, and tail lamps. The Premium variant comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the Performance variant gets larger 20-inch wheels.

The Sealion 7 Powered by an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade battery, the Sealion 7 offers two powertrains: a 230 kW RWD variant with a 567 km range and a 390 kW AWD variant with a 542 km range, both supporting 150 kW fast charging. It features advanced suspension, ventilated disc brakes, 11 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 12-speaker DYNAUDIO system, and a panoramic glass roof.

Inside, the Sealion 7 shares its dashboard and steering wheel design with the Seal. It boasts a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic roof, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display, and a powered tailgate with V2L functionality. The cabin offers a 520-litre boot, expandable to 1,789 litres with the rear seats folded, along with a 58-litre frunk.

Safety features include 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS like blind spot detection, forward collision warning, intelligent cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. The Premium variant delivers 313 hp and 380 Nm, reaching 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds with a WLTP range of 482 km. The Performance variant offers 530 hp and 690 Nm, accelerating to 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with a WLTP range of 456 km.
