Shenzhen/China, United Kingdom- BYD Company Limited., a manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEV) and power batteries, has unveiled its latest innovation, the all-new electric double-decker bus, the BYD BD11, at the London Bus Museum, which is also home to the first electric bus with a BYD K9E chassis for London's public transport.
The BYD BD11, an electric double-decker bus, has been introduced in the UK, specifically designed for London. Featuring BYD's Blade Battery with a capacity of up to 532kWh, the BD11 offers exceptional range, performance, and fast charging, recharging fully in just two hours. The Blade Battery, known for its safety and efficiency, is integrated into the chassis to improve range and stability. Operations in London will begin later this year, with a provincial model to follow.
The BYD BD11 electric double-decker bus features an integrated thermal management system, active suspension, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for optimal energy use and safety. Unique in the NEV sector, BYD develops its own powertrain systems and components. With over 1,800 eBuses in the UK covering 80 million miles, BYD has cut CO2 emissions by 137 million tonnes. Following the B12 model launch in Europe last year, BYD continues to advance public transport technologies globally.
