St. Valentin, Austria - Case IH., an agricultural machinery brand under CNH Industrial America LLC., has launched its latest G500V VariCut variable knife grain headers, designed to enhance the performance of Axial-Flow combines while reducing operator workload. These new headers offer significant upgrades in cutting efficiency, maintenance simplicity, and ease of use across a wide range of crop types and field conditions.

The G500V header series includes seven models ranging from 6.1 to 12.5 meters (20 to 41 feet) in working width. Each model features a knife system that can move 575mm fore and aft, ensuring consistent crop flow regardless of crop density or type. This flexibility supports optimal combine performance in various harvesting scenarios.

A key upgrade is the hydraulic gauge wheel system on wider models, allowing cab-controlled switching between transport and field modes. Setup is faster with a single PTO and grouped connections on the left side. The new inline knife drive with linear motion reduces vibration, while gearboxes and a telescopic PTO lower maintenance. Larger models feature synchronized dual knife drives for smoother cutting, and an increased knife speed of 735rpm boosts forward speed without compromising performance.

Case IH has enhanced crop flow efficiency with a rear-adjustable auger stripper and a simplified auger height system featuring two preset positions for canola and small grains—cutting adjustment time by 25%. A new click-on side knife with a lightweight aluminum frame and over-centre locking cuts removal time by 50% for quicker, easier handling.

Mr. Andreas Saile, Case IH Crop Harvesting Business Manager for Europe, said, "The new G500V VariCut variable knife grain headers are designed specifically to help customers and operators of Case IH Axial-Flow 160 and 260 series combines, and the new AF series combines, to get the best performance from their machines. Improvements from the gauge wheels to the couplings, plus the lighter click-on sideknife, mean quicker set-up, enabling operators to get going faster in the field. With the main knife speed increase improving throughput, and the new knife drive cutting maintenance time, these upgrades collectively allow users to exploit the full potential of their combines."

The G500V VariCut headers exemplify Case IH’s continued commitment to innovation, supporting farmers with tools that deliver improved efficiency, comfort, and productivity in the field.
