Bologna, Italy - Association of Equipment Manufacturers., (AEM) and CEMA., a European Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen advocacy for the agricultural equipment industry. The agreement, formalizing the partnership between CEMA and AEM, was signed last November at two major industry events: EIMA International in Bologna, Italy, and AEM’s Annual Conference in Palm Springs, California, USA.

The MoU between AEM and CEMA aims to foster a positive legislative and regulatory environment globally, ensuring alignment on key issues affecting manufacturers in both regions. It establishes a framework for collaboration on regulatory compliance, mutual recognition, and harmonizing practices and standards in key areas impacting agricultural equipment manufacturers.

Mr. Curt Blades, Senior Vice President of AEM, said, “With the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, AEM and CEMA look forward to enhanced collaboration in order to address key issues of importance and ensure there is alignment between Europe and the U.S. as it relates to our two very important global machinery markets.”

The MoU outlines several key areas where AEM and CEMA will enhance cooperation, including engine emissions, autonomous equipment, cybersecurity, machine safety and technical requirements, advanced technology in agriculture, and sustainability. These focus areas aim to foster innovation, improve regulatory standards, and ensure that both organizations work together to address the evolving challenges and opportunities in the agricultural equipment industry.

Mr. Jelte Wiersma, Secretary General at CEMA, said, “This agreement strengthens the transatlantic connection between AEM and CEMA, as we work together to support agricultural equipment manufacturers as they build the products that help feed our world.”
