Haryana- JSW MG Motor India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Mr. Vinay Raina as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). He will lead sales and commercial operations, stepping in after Satinder Singh Bajwa’s exit late last year. Raina’s appointment comes as the company is going through major changes focusing more on electric vehicles (NEVs), expanding its premium product range, and growing MG Select, its new experience-based showroom format under the JSW–SAIC partnership.
This move is part of a larger leadership change at JSW MG. Earlier this year, Mr. Rajeev Chaba moved into an advisory role as CEO Emeritus, and Mr. Anurag Mehrotra took over as Managing Director. Former MG Select head Mr. Gaurav Gupta joined TVS Motor Company, and Mr. Rakesh Sen, the head of sales, also left recently for personal reasons.
These changes are happening as the company faces more competition and needs to improve sales performance, customer experience, and overall efficiency in a fast-changing car market.
Raina and Mehrotra have worked together before at Ford India, where they focused on boosting sales, improving dealer relationships, and growing profitability. Their past experience together is expected to help them shape a strong strategy for JSW MG.
As CCO, Raina will be responsible for the sales strategy, dealer network, and growth of MG Select the company’s premium showroom model designed to offer a better customer experience.
Although JSW MG has done well in the electric vehicle segment, it is facing lower demand for its petrol and diesel models.
Going forward, Raina will need to help the company increase sales, support dealers, and keep customers excited in a market that is becoming more price-sensitive and competitive. The success of MG Select and the premium push will depend on offering unique experiences, new products, and faster market response.
With Raina now on board, JSW MG’s leadership team is nearly complete. The company’s focus now shifts from leadership changes to getting results on the ground. Its ability to grow in the electric vehicle space and strengthen its brand will decide how well it competes in India’s fast-growing auto industry.
