Fontana, United States- ZM Trucks., a manufacturer and seller of zero-emission, of the ZO Motors North America LLC is a manufacturer and seller of zero-emission, urban environment commercial vehicles, has officially introduced the ZM8 SWB (Short Wheelbase), a compact, highly maneuverable addition to its electric truck lineup. With a 138-inch wheelbase, the new model is purpose-built for urban operations and supports a wide range of upfit applications.
Designed to accommodate 12-, 14-, and 16-foot box bodies, the ZM8 SWB offers exceptional versatility for urban delivery, municipal service, and vocational use. It retains the hallmark features of the ZM8 platform, including standard dual electric power take-offs (ePTOs) for easy integration with liftgates, refrigeration units, and other auxiliary equipment.
The ZM8 SWB is offered in two configurations:
- Class 4: Payload capacity of 8,950 lbs with an estimated range of 165 miles
- Class 5: Payload capacity of up to 12,450 lbs with an estimated range of 150 miles
Combining zero-emission performance with a lower total cost of ownership than traditional commercial vehicles, the ZM8 SWB gives fleet operators the agility, flexibility, and efficiency needed to excel in dense urban environments and specialized vocational operations.
Mr. Joost de Vries, CEO at ZM Trucks, said, "The ZM8 SWB was developed in response to real-world fleet feedback. By combining shorter wheelbase agility with the power and range commercial fleets expect, we're opening the door to more use cases than ever."
The ZM8 SWB will be on display at the ZM Trucks Fontana Grand Opening in late August, where the company will host customers, media, and industry partners for one of the first looks at the vehicle and the expanded facility.
