      California, United States- ChargePoint, Inc., a provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), and General Motors Corporation Private Limited., has announced a collaboration to accelerate the development of EV infrastructure in the United States. The companies plan to install hundreds of ultra-fast charging ports at strategic locations nationwide, incorporating cutting-edge charging technology to make EV charging faster and more accessible. These charging stations are expected to be operational and open to the public by the end of 2025.

      Mr. Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, Inc., said, “The transition to electric mobility continues to be driven by leaders such as General Motors Corporation Private Limited, offering innovative EVs and committing to making chargers as ubiquitous as possible. Our collaboration with General Motors Corporation Private Limited represents a significant investment in infrastructure to enable fast and easy charging for all. Together, ChargePoint, Inc. and General Motors Corporation Private Limited will deliver a seamless fast charging experience via reliable charging hardware managed by our industry-leading software platform.”

      As part of this initiative, many charging locations will feature ChargePoint, Inc.'s innovative Omni Port system, which allows vehicles with CCS or NACS charging ports to charge seamlessly without adapters or specific parking spaces. Additionally, many of these stations will incorporate ChargePoint, Inc.'s Express Plus platform, enabling ultra-fast charging at speeds of up to 500kW.

      Mr. Wade Sheffer, Vice President of GM Energy at General Motors Corporation Private Limited, said, “Continuing to provide customers with better charging options helps to remove barriers to EV adoption and improve the ownership experience. General Motors Corporation Private Limited drivers have access to hundreds of thousands of charging locations, and this collaboration with ChargePoint, Inc. adds even more reliable and convenient charging experiences. With ultra-fast charging, Omni Port technology, and excellent customer experiences, this partnership is another reason for EV drivers and EV-curious consumers to be excited.”
