Chennai – Citroën India.,has taken a significant step forward in its Citroën 2.0 “Shift Into the New” strategic plan with the launch of the new Citroën C3X range. Positioned as a bold evolution of its popular SUV-styled car, the C3X introduces 15 new intelligent features aimed at elevating comfort, convenience, and safety while continuing to be one of the most accessible offerings in its segment.

At the heart of the new upgrade is Citroën’s innovative Proxi-Sense Passive Entry and Push Start system, a segment-first feature that delivers true hands-free convenience. Unlike conventional systems, Proxi-Sense unlocks the car automatically when the key is in proximity and locks it when the driver walks away, while the engine can be started with just the push of a button. Adding to its technology-led updates, the C3X also brings cruise control with a speed limiter, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, and the advanced HALO 360-degree camera system offering seven viewing angles. These are complemented by LED projector headlamps and fog lamps, LED interior lighting, rear USB-C fast charging, and a comprehensive safety suite with a perimetric alarm system.

Shailesh Hazela, MD & CEO of Stellantis India, highlighted that with prices starting at ₹5.25 lakhs, Citroën continues to redefine affordability in the segment while delivering aspirational features, robust performance, and strong localisation for Indian customers. Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director – Automotive Brands, added that the Citroën C3X represents the brand’s commitment to meaningful innovation, bringing thoughtful upgrades like Proxi-Sense entry, cruise control, and advanced camera systems to enhance everyday driving.

While these updates mark a leap forward in features, the C3X remains unmistakably Citroën with its SUV-inspired silhouette, French design flair, split LED DRLs, and confident front grille. Practicality is built in with 180 mm ground clearance and a 4.98m turning radius, making it suitable for both congested urban environments and open highways. Engine options include a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2L PureTech 110 direct injection turbo petrol, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. With a certified efficiency of 19.3 km/l and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of under 10 seconds, the new C3X balances efficiency and performance seamlessly.

Inside, the car continues to impress with its segment-best 26 cm (10.25-inch) infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, generous rear shoulder room of 1,378 mm, a 2,540 mm wheelbase, 315-litre boot, and theatre-style rear seating. Citroën’s Advanced Comfort suspension ensures a “flying carpet” ride quality, while the tropicalized automatic air-conditioning system designed for Indian summers can cool the cabin to below 14 degrees.

Safety remains a core focus, with the new Citroën C3X offering six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS, a high-speed alert system, and the HALO 360-degree camera, delivering reassurance without intrusiveness. The car retains Citroën’s signature French difference, emphasizing design elegance, comfort, and thoughtful engineering over aggressive styling.

The new C3X range is available for booking across all Citroën dealerships in India with display models available by mid-August and customer deliveries scheduled to begin in early September 2025. With its upgraded technology, competitive pricing, and comfort-oriented design, the new Citroën C3X strengthens Stellantis’ ambitions in India and positions itself as a serious contender in the compact SUV market.
