Chennai - Citroën India, an Indian subsidiary of the historic French automaker Citroën, has launched the updated Citroën ë-C3X, strengthening its focus on making electric mobility more accessible, practical and customer-friendly in India. The introduction of Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) brings a new ownership approach by separating the battery cost from the vehicle price, allowing customers to adopt EVs with a lower initial investment.
Built around Citroën’s focus on innovation, comfort and design-driven mobility, the new ë-C3X combines distinctive styling, modern technology and everyday usability with a flexible ownership model. With this update, Citroën aims to bring electric mobility closer to a wider customer base while continuing its promise of delivering superior comfort in the EV segment.
Mr. Kumar Priyesh, Director Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said: “With the all-new ë‑C3X, we are taking a decisive step forward in India’s electric mobility journey. This is not just a product launch, but a meaningful move to make EV ownership more accessible and flexible through our BaaS offering. Combined with Citroën’s signature comfort, bold design and practical technology, the ë‑C3X delivers a well-rounded and compelling electric mobility experience tailored for Indian customers.”
BaaS: A Smarter EV Ownership Option
The Citroën ë-C3X introduces Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), offered through leading banking partners, to reduce the high upfront cost of EV ownership. Through a dual-loan finance model, customers can separate the battery cost from the vehicle price, making EV adoption more affordable, flexible and predictable.
Built for Everyday Indian Families
Developed on Citroën’s India-focused Smart Car Platform, the ë-C3X combines SUV-inspired styling, LED lighting, R15 diamond-cut alloy wheels, 170 mm ground clearance and a compact 4.98-metre turning radius. These features make it suitable for both city driving and highway use.
Inside, the ë-C3X offers a spacious and comfortable cabin with a 2,450 mm wheelbase, 1,375 mm shoulder room and 315-litre boot space. Citroën Advanced Comfort® suspension and seats provide a smooth ride, while the electric powertrain delivers quiet, vibration-free driving.
The EV also includes a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, connected car technology with 40+ features, and optional JBL audio and dashcam package.
Safety That Adds Confidence
The ë-C3X comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, speed-sensitive door locks and high-speed alert. Its strong body structure, advanced battery protection system and low centre of gravity help improve safety, stability and driving confidence.
The all-new Citroën ë-C3X range starts at approximately USD 10,870 (INR 10.25 Lakh), while the BaaS option starts at around USD 7,300(INR 6.89 Lakh) + battery EMI of USD 0.024/km. Bookings are now open across the Citroën dealership network and on the official Citroën India website.
