CLAAS expands its hay tool lineup with new VOLTO tedders and DISCO mowers, set to debut in North America by 2025's first cuttings. These tools aim to enhance hay processing for domestic producers.
Date: October 2, 2024Harsewinkel, Germany - CLAAS KGaA mbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, expands its hay tool lineup with popular CLAAS tedders and movers that debuted in Europe earlier this spring are set to launch for North American customers in time for the first cuttings of 2025. The expanded DISCO mower line and three new, wider VOLTO tedders will enhance hay processing capabilities for domestic producers.
VOLTO 1300 T/TS and VOLTO 1500 T/TS Tedders - The latest VOLTO tedders, the 1300 T and TS as well as the 1500 T and TS, provide the widest working widths to date. They boast a new frame and chassis designed for optimal ground contour following and soil protection, along with easy operation and a revamped drive system. Both models are available in the Trailed "T" version and the self-steering "TS" version.
Key Features of VOLTO 1300 T/TS and VOLTO 1500 T/TS Tedders:
The innovative chassis features a Y-shaped axle beam for superior ground clearance, while the self-steering chassis ensures distortion-free alignment between the chassis and rotor frames. It comes with 12 or 14 rotors, each having a 4’11” diameter and six tine arms. The MAX SPREAD system uses angled spreader arms for efficient crop flow, and strong, equal-angled tines with five windings offer reliable tine loss protection. Operation is simplified with a single-acting hydraulic spool valve for folding and a double-acting hydraulic spool valve for control.
DISCO Mowers - For 25 years, DISCO large-scale mowers have made a significant impact in the forage harvesting sector, catering to large farms and contracting work. To celebrate this milestone, CLAAS is introducing four new mower-conditioner combinations in North America for 2025: the DISCO 9300 C COMFORT, DISCO 9300 RC COMFORT, and DISCO 9300 C AS BUSINESS. Additionally, a COMFORT version of the DISCO 1100 will also be launched.
Key Features of DISCO 9300 C/RC COMFORT and C AS Models:
The new mower models offer working widths of 29' 10" or 29' 2", with options for a standard tine conditioner "C", double-roller drive conditioner "RC", or a tine conditioner with AUTO SWATHER "C AS". They feature durable, reinforced conditioner plates for extended service life and fast-acting hydraulic NON-STOP collision protection. Comfort hydraulics ensure smooth operation with direct arm control and load-sensing capabilities. Optional folding protective covers are available for DISCO 9300 C/RC models.
Key Features of DISCO 1100 COMFORT:
With a working width of 35’ 5” to 31’ 2”, featuring two sets of nine counter-rotating mower discs, this system ensures efficient cutting. Hydraulic telescopic arms provide optimal overlap on bends or slopes, while comfort hydraulics with direct arm control and load-sensing operation offer active float ground pressure control for smooth performance.
