Harsewinkel, Germany - CLAAS KGaA mbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has launched its new CEREX 700 RC variable round baler, featuring an innovative bale chamber design that redefines performance, durability, and user comfort. Designed for contractors and large farms, the CEREX 700 RC combines high-density baling, advanced cutting technology, and user-friendly digital integration.
At the heart of the CEREX 700 RC is a newly developed bale chamber that uses two endless heavy-duty (HD) belts and a robust hydraulic system with a new clamping arm cylinder. This design achieves bale densities of over 135 kg/m³ in straw, setting new standards in its class. The almost complete enclosure of the bale significantly reduces crumbling losses, even with shorter lengths of cut.
The system allows for precise pressure control via an ISOBUS terminal, maintaining stable bale density even under varying crop and field conditions. Operators can produce bale diameters ranging from 0.90 m up to 1.60 m (CEREX 760 RC) or 1.83 m (CEREX 780 RC), with a standard soft core function especially useful for hay and silage.
The CEREX 700 RC’s CLAAS MULTIFLOW HD pick-up (2.10 m width) ensures smooth, efficient crop intake even at high speeds. Its spiral feed rotor and 25-blade ROTO CUT system deliver up to 13,800 cuts per minute with a 44 mm cut length. Knife groups (25/13/12/0) switch easily, while the PRO cutting frame can open 30 mm or be hydraulically lowered via the ISOBUS terminal to handle varying forage flow and prevent blockages.
The CEREX 700 RC features a reinforced HD chassis, robust duplex chain drive, and split drive system handling up to 216 hp. Its intuitive CEMIS 700 ISOBUS terminal offers user-friendly controls and bale tracking. Practical touches like work lights, a bale camera, and moisture sensor boost productivity, while CLAAS connect provides digital manuals, parts access, and cost calculation tools for smarter farm management.
