Harsewinkel, Germany - CLAAS KGaA mbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has unveiled the latest generation of its DISCO CONTOUR disc mowers, drawing on the experience of producing over 250,000 mowers to date. The updated range, which offers working widths from 2.60 to 4.20 metres, introduces several new equipment features including a counterweight, double roller drive on the RC models, and an optional steel roller conditioner.

The DISCO series is renowned for reliability, durability, and efficient forage harvesting, supported by features like MAX CUT mower bars, ACTIVE FLOAT suspension, SAFETY LINK, and vector folding, earning a 98% customer satisfaction rate. Introduced in 2015, the MAX CUT mower bar combines a robust, bolted design and high cutting frequency at lower PTO speed (850 rpm) for clean, precise cuts. Added protections like tungsten carbide-coated blade holders, wear rivets, and SAFETY LINK further enhance durability, while its wave-shaped bed ensures smooth, consistent cutting.

The new DISCO 4400 CONTOUR, with a 4.2 m working width and vector folding, offers compact transport and, when combined with front mowers, covers up to 7 m. CLAAS now adds steel roller conditioners with double drives for tougher crops and optional telescopic swath plates for narrower, cleaner swaths. All models connect to CLAAS connect for digital manuals and farm management tools.

MAX CUT mower bars need minimal upkeep thanks to lifetime lubrication and handy features like a portable blade box and colour-coded covers. ACTIVE FLOAT suspension lets operators adjust ground pressure from the cab for better cutting, less wear, and improved efficiency. A new counterweight boosts stability, especially with larger mowers or lighter tractors, and an optional parking device allows parking while folded. The 120-degree folding keeps transport height under 4 m and ensures clear rear visibility on the road.

These updates make the DISCO CONTOUR series even more efficient, user-friendly, and digitally integrated for modern forage harvesting.
