Noida - CNH Industrial N.V., an agricultural machinery company, has started producing new 2.8-litre TREM V-compliant F28 engine at Greater Noida facility. Initially for CEV V construction equipment, it will later be used in agriculture. With 60% localization (199 local parts, 75 imported), CNH plans to raise it to 90%.
The F28 engine, developed under license from FPT Industrial, offers a compact design for better balance, lower vibrations, and improved fuel efficiency. Built for under-hood use, it meets strict emission norms. CNH’s Noida facility features AI-driven systems, digital management, and robotic cleaning for precision. With a 20,000-unit annual capacity, it serves both domestic and export markets.
Mr. Narinder Mittal, President and Managing Director of CNH, said, “The launch of the F28 engine aligns with the company’s goal of producing high-quality, locally manufactured solutions. He highlighted CNH’s focus on innovation and sustainability, adding that the new powertrain technology will enhance the performance and reliability of CNH’s construction and agricultural equipment in India. The localization of such engines is expected to reduce dependence on imports while providing a robust solution tailored for Indian working conditions.”
CNH expansion in engine manufacturing addresses the rising demand for environmentally friendly powertrains in both the construction and agricultural sectors. CNH's investment in local production reflects its commitment to meeting increasingly stringent emission standards while maintaining high performance, efficiency, and reliability in its powertrain solutions.
With over 25 years in India, CNH operates through Case IH, New Holland, and CASE Construction Equipment, alongside CNH Capital for financial services and a Global Technology Center.
