      Continental expands production capacity at Thailand plant

      Rayong, Thailand- Continental AG., is increasing production at its Rayong, Thailand tire plant by 3 million units annually, with an investment exceeding 300 million euros (13 billion Thai Baht). Supported by Thailand's Board of Investment under its Economic Recovery Scheme, this expansion will create around 600 new jobs, reinforcing Continental's commitment to the Thai market and the APAC region, where it already

      Mr. Dalibor Kalina, Head of Continentals Business Area Replacement Tires in the Asia-Pacific region, "Our latest capacity expansion in Rayong reflects our strong growth in the Asia-Pacific region, one of Continental Tires’ strategic growth markets. With our increased production capacity, we will meet the demands of our customers even better, locally in Thailand, and regionally in the Asia-Pacific markets."

      Mr. Vignesh Devasenapathy, Plant Manager of the Continental tire plant in Rayong, said, At Rayong, we take great pride in being a very versatile and reliable part of Continental’s global tire production network. We supply the vehicle manufacturers and the replacement tire sector with both passenger, light truck tires and motorcycle tires."

      At its Rayong plant, Continental manufactures premium tires, including the MaxContact MC7, tailored for electric vehicles. In 2023, it supplied original equipment tires to the top five electric vehicle manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region. The Rayong facility is also one of Continental's largest motorcycle tire production sites.

      The plant boasts high energy efficiency, utilizing advanced production technologies and highly automated logistics. With a photovoltaic capacity of 6.7 megawatts peak, it covers 13% of its annual electricity needs with renewable energy.

      Continental is committed to sustainability, digitalization, and automation across its 20 tire plants worldwide, focusing on innovative technologies, alternative materials, and eco-friendly production processes to enhance overall logistics efficiency.
