Date: October 14, 2024Rayong, Thailand- Continental AG., is increasing production at its Rayong, Thailand tire plant by 3 million units annually, with an investment exceeding 300 million euros (13 billion Thai Baht). Mr. Vignesh Devasenapathy, Plant Manager of the Continental tire plant in Rayong, said, At Rayong, we take great pride in being a very versatile and reliable part of Continental’s global tire production network. We supply the vehicle manufacturers and the replacement tire sector with both passenger, light truck tires and motorcycle tires."
At its Rayong plant, Continental manufactures premium tires, including the MaxContact MC7, tailored for electric vehicles. In 2023, it supplied original equipment tires to the top five electric vehicle manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region. The Rayong facility is also one of Continental's largest motorcycle tire production sites.
The plant boasts high energy efficiency, utilizing advanced production technologies and highly automated logistics. With a photovoltaic capacity of 6.7 megawatts peak, it covers 13% of its annual electricity needs with renewable energy.
