Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., a commercial vehicle manufacture, and Cracow's public transport operator MPK Kraków S.A., signed a contract for the purchase of 37 unit of mild-hybrid buses. The low-emission vehicles will be included in Kraków's fleet of already nearly 600 Solaris buses. Deliveries are scheduled for the first half of 2025.

The Municipal Transport Company of Cracow has chosen Solaris to supply 37 low-emission, 12-meter-long buses. These modern, low-floor, and air-conditioned buses will replace the oldest ones in the fleet. Of the 37 buses, 25 will serve city lines, and 12 will serve agglomeration routes. Deliveries are expected in the first half of 2025.

Mild hybrid buses feature an internal combustion engine supported by an electric generator, leading to fuel savings and lower emissions. This system recovers and stores energy during braking, using it to assist the engine during acceleration. This results in reduced pollutants, making the buses more environmentally friendly and flexible.

Solaris buses have been in Cracow for over twenty years, with nearly 600 vehicles in service, many of which are zero-emission. The new mild hybrid buses will be Cracow's first from Solaris with this system, following successful four-week tests last summer.
