Eindhoven, Netherlands- DAF Trucks N.V., is expanding its battery-electric portfolio with the launch of the XG Electric and XG+ Electric, bringing its most spacious and comfort-focused cabs to zero-emission long-haul transport. The new models build on the same advanced technology as the XD and XF Electric winners of the International Truck of the Year 2026 award combining refined electric drivetrains, durable LFP battery technology, and outstanding driving comfort.

DAF now offers a comprehensive range of fully electric trucks tailored to diverse transport needs: the XB Electric (12, 16 and 19 tonnes) for urban distribution, the XD Electric for urban and regional work, and the XF Electric for longer distances. The newly introduced XG and XG+ Electric take driver comfort to the next level, featuring the most spacious cabs on the market.

Compared with the already generous XF, the XG and XG+ cabs are 33 cm longer and taller, creating an exceptional working, living, and sleeping environment. With a total interior volume of 12.5 m³, a standing height of up to 2.2 metres, and beds that are 80 cm wide along their full length, the new models set a new benchmark for comfort in electric trucking.

Power comes from the PACCAR EX-D2 electric motor, delivering outputs from 270 to 350 kW (370–480 hp) and a torque of 2,400 Nm. The compact powertrain integrates two electric motors with a three-speed transmission, ensuring smooth gear shifts, strong performance, and exceptional driving comfort.

The XG and XG+ Electric feature a modular battery system with three to five LFP battery packs, positioned flexibly on the chassis to suit each application. With five battery packs, the trucks can achieve over 500 km of zero-emission range on a single charge. With smart route and charging planning, daily distances of over 1,000 km are achievable, making the trucks suitable for international operations.

This range is supported by the highly efficient EX-D2 powertrain, intelligent battery management, and outstanding aerodynamics. The streamlined cab design with a curved windscreen, side skirts, deflectors, fenders, and digital camera mirrors significantly reduces drag.

Like all DAF battery-electric trucks, the XG and XG+ Electric use latest-generation LFP batteries that are cobalt- and nickel-free, thermally stable, and designed for long life. Backed by an eight-year warranty, the batteries can be charged daily up to 100% without compromising durability. A three-pack configuration can be charged from 10% to 80% in just over 45 minutes.

DAF supports the XG and XG+ Electric with a full suite of services, including smart charging stations and energy storage from PACCAR Power Solutions, tailored maintenance contracts via DAF MultiSupport, dedicated fleet management through PACCAR Connect, and flexible financing from PACCAR Financial.

Available as a 4×2 tractor and a 6×2 rigid chassis with a steered trailing axle, the new DAF XG and XG+ Electric combine a highly efficient electric powertrain with unmatched interior space and comfort—setting a new standard for zero-emission long-haul trucking.
