Eindhoven, Netherlands- DAF Trucks NV., a truck manufacturing company and a division of Paccar, has expanded its fully electric truck portfolio with a comprehensive range of new multi-axle tractor and rigid models, covering 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 configurations. Designed for heavy-duty transport and construction applications, the expanded line-up enables DAF to deliver a tailor-made zero-emission solution for nearly every transport requirement. The new chassis variants are available across the XD and XF Electric ranges including the International Truck of the Year 2026 as well as the XG and XG+ Electric models, which offer the most spacious cabs in the market.
The new FTG and FTN Electric 6x2 tractor models target heavy-duty distribution and demanding logistics operations. The FTG configuration, featuring a steered or non-steered pusher axle, is unique in the electric truck segment and optimises axle load distribution for higher payloads and excellent yard manoeuvrability. With GCWs of up to 50 tonnes, these models also enable electric EcoCombi operations. The FTN Electric, equipped with a steered trailing axle, further enhances manoeuvrability and is particularly suited for urban and regional distribution where frequent manoeuvring is required.
Both FTG and FTN Electric tractors are powered by the PACCAR EX-D2 e-motor, delivering outputs from 270 kW (370 hp) to 350 kW (480 hp). Battery configurations range from three to five modular packs, allowing zero-emission driving ranges of over 500 kilometres depending on specification and application.
For rigid applications requiring high static payloads, DAF introduces the new FAS Electric 6x2 rigid. With a GVW of up to 28 tonnes and a double-mounted trailing axle rated at 10 tonnes, the FAS Electric is ideally suited for tippers and demountable container systems where load weight is temporarily concentrated on the rear axle during loading and unloading. An optional liftable third axle helps reduce energy consumption and tyre wear when operating unloaded.
DAF has also expanded its electric offering for the construction sector with the FAT Electric 6x4 and FAW Electric 8x4 rigids. These models feature double driven tandem axles to ensure maximum traction in demanding off-road conditions. The FAT Electric, with a GVW of up to 29 tonnes, is well suited for tippers and concrete mixers, while the FAW Electric with a GVW of up to 37 tonnes and a steered trailing axle—combines high payload capacity with impressive manoeuvrability for crane operations and bulk material transport.
All new electric models are powered by PACCAR EX-D1 and EX-D2 e-motors, offering outputs from 170 kW (230 hp) to 350 kW (480 hp) and torque levels of up to 2,400 Nm. A newly developed three-speed direct-drive transmission with planetary gearing ensures high efficiency, low weight and smooth, rapid gear changes. The One Pedal Drive system further enhances efficiency and comfort by combining acceleration and regenerative braking into a single pedal.
DAF exclusively uses lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, available in configurations ranging from two to five packs with capacities between 210 and 525 kWh. These cobalt- and nickel-free batteries offer high thermal stability, long service life, an eight-year warranty and the ability to be charged regularly to 100% without affecting longevity.
Thanks to the modular positioning of battery packs, the XD, XF, XG and XG+ Electric chassis offer exceptional bodybuilder friendliness. This flexibility allows space for cranes, side-loader waste bodies and complex superstructures, supported by an optional 650 V e-PTO for powering electric auxiliary equipment. Close collaboration with European bodybuilders ensures fast integration, seamless software communication and quicker vehicle availability.
In addition to its expanded electric truck range, DAF supports operators throughout the energy transition with driver training, route planning, charging infrastructure, energy storage solutions and digital fleet management via PACCAR Connect. Together, these products and services position DAF as a comprehensive partner for zero-emission transport.
