      Leinfelden-Echterdingen, GermanyDaimler Buses GmbH., has acquired a 49% stake in SINOS GmbH., a Regensburg-based company specializing in software solutions for electrified city bus fleets. SINOS offers intelligent charging management, optimizing charging times based on grid demand and electricity costs. This investment strengthens the existing collaboration between the two companies, further enhancing efficient and cost-effective e-bus operations.

      Mr. Till Oberwörder, CEO Daimler Buses, “The SINOS software solution is user-friendly, efficient and expandable. This is why it has been so popular with our customers for several years now. With our stake, we want to make use of SINOS’ expertise and innovative strength to develop charging management software that is even better tailored to our e-buses.”

      Since 2022, Daimler Buses has partnered with SINOS to enhance fleet electrification, offering intelligent charging and depot digitalization to optimize operations. Over 20 European transport companies have already implemented these solutions.

      Through Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH, founded in 2023, the company provides turnkey electromobility and hydrogen infrastructure, including consulting, design, and implementation. Following its dual strategy, Daimler Buses is advancing both battery-electric and hydrogen-powered technologies.

      The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, in production since 2018, gained a hydrogen fuel cell range extender in 2023. The eIntouro intercity bus will launch in 2026, with electric coaches planned by 2030. By 2039, Daimler Buses aims to sell only CO₂-free vehicles in Europe, with city buses reaching this goal by 2030.
