Leinfelden-Echterdingen- Daimler Buses., has delivered 17 units of new Setra Low Entry intercity buses to Merz Reisen GmbH, strengthening the operator’s regional transport fleet in Bavaria. The newly supplied Setra S 515 LE models are each configured with 45 seats and feature advanced driver-assistance technologies, including the Sideguard Assist 2 system, which supports drivers in critical turning situations where visibility is restricted.

Seven of the new Setra MultiClass buses will be deployed in the Amberg-Sulzbach district after Merz Reisen secured a route bundle tender. This network serves the corridor between Amberg and Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. The remaining ten vehicles will operate in a regained route bundle, covering services in and around Altdorf as well as the key connection between Altdorf and Lauf.

With the addition of these 17 intercity buses, the family-owned company founded in 1929 and now managed by third-generation owners Patricia Ehbauer and Ralf Schneider now operates a fleet of 67 Setra vehicles from the Ulm-based brand. The fleet also includes ten fully equipped touring coaches, enabling Merz Reisen to offer a wide range of services such as art and day trips, wellness tours, musical events, and multi-day travel programs
