Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Hamburg – Daimler Buses GmbH., has been confirmed by Hamburger Hochbahn AG., a bus operater, as the sole supplier of up to 350 fully electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro and eCitaro G city buses. Over the next five years, these buses will be delivered to Hamburg. The operator praised the eCitaro’s low total cost of ownership (TCO) and ease of maintenance. Daimler Buses, recognized for its sustainable e-bus solutions, is excited about this contract as the eCitaro, named “Electric Bus Champion” in 2024, supports Hamburg's transition to a fully electric bus fleet.

The new eCitaro buses of Hamburger Hochbahn AG are equipped with the NMC3 battery generation, which guarantees a high emission-free range. They have a whole host of assistance systems such as Preventive Brake Assist and Sideguard Assist with functions that, in some cases, go far beyond what is required by the General Safety Regulation (GSR) of the European Union. The state-of-the-art CO2 automatic climate control system with sophisticated thermal management ensures a pleasant and comfortable climate.
