Daimler Truck appoints Ms. Eva Scherer as CFO

Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany- The Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG (Daimler Truck)., has appointed Ms. Eva Scherer as new member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck Holding AG beginning April 1, 2024. Eva Scherer, in her role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will oversee Finance & Controlling at Daimler Truck. The term of the appointment is March 31, 2027, to March 31, 2027.

Mr. Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG, said that, Sadly, there is now a vacancy in the Chief Financial Officer post. The job has been filled by the Supervisory Board after a rigorous selection procedure. We gave special weight to talent, diversity, open-mindedness, and a desire to effect change, in addition to professional experience. Eva Scherer has demonstrated these qualities in a compelling way. The Supervisory Board is excited to collaborate with her.

Mr. Michael Brecht, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the General Works Council of Daimler Truck Holding AG, said that, Eva Scherer persuaded me that, among many other things, she truly is a team player. Her extensive background in finance, which she obtained while working for a sizable business group in a related sector, allows her to offer crucial suggestions that will help Daimler Truck as it undergoes change. The Board of Management is eager to work with Eva Scherer to further enhance Daimler Truck.

Jochen Goetz, who died suddenly and unexpectedly in a tragic incident in August 2023, had been responsible for Finance & Controlling on the Executive Board since July 2021. Since then, Martin Daum has assumed the role of CFO on an interim basis. 

Eva Scherer, formerly Executive VP and Global Head of Investor Relations at Siemens AG, is moving to Daimler Truck. She joined Siemens in 2003 and held various management roles in Purchasing and Finance & Controlling. After completing her MBA, she worked in Singapore before returning to Germany in 2017 as SVP at Siemens Mobility. In July 2020, she became CFO for Rail Infrastructure and Mobility Software. Since October 2022, Scherer has been in charge of Investor Relations globally at Siemens AG. The Supervisory Board's decisions on her appointment apply to both Daimler Truck Holding AG and Daimler Truck AG. She has been a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum since 2019.
