Daimler Truck's all-electric RIZON trucks have arrived in Canada, with sales starting January 2025. A partnership with Globocam will expand their network in Québec and Ontario, and the trucks qualify for a $75,000 CAD incentive.
Date: November 1, 2024Surrey, Canada- RIZON, Daimler Truck’s latest brand of all-electric vehicles, is excited to announce the arrival of its first shipment of class 4-5 vehicles in British Columbia. This marks the initial delivery following RIZON's launch into the Canadian market in April 2024. The shipment consists of the first 12 units from a total order of 22 vehicles, with the remaining units set to arrive in November 2024.
After being fitted with various bodies, including dry boxes, service bodies, and landscape dumps, 19 of the units will be delivered to customers in British Columbia and Quebec, while the remaining three will be used for demonstration purposes. These vehicles will be distributed across locations in both provinces. The customer base includes municipalities, rental and leasing providers, as well as freight and logistics companies.

RIZON is enhancing its dealership network by partnering with Globocam, one of Québec's commercial vehicle dealers. This collaboration adds three new locations in Québec and Ontario to the existing six in British Columbia.

RIZON trucks qualify for the Canadian government’s Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero Vehicles (iMHZEV) program, offering approximately $75,000 at the point of sale. Additional provincial incentives may reach up to $75,000 in British Columbia and $100,000 in Quebec.
RIZON offers four variants for Canadian customers: e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M, with gross vehicle weights ranging from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds. These trucks can travel up to 257 km (L size with three battery packs) and 177 km (M size with two battery packs) on a single charge. They are suited for various applications, including dry vans and garbage compactors, and feature an electric power take-off (ePTO) for specialized equipment.
RIZON trucks incorporate advanced passive and active safety systems, including Active Brake Assist and Active Side Guard Assist, enhancing driver security in urban environments.
These trucks support Level 2 AC charging (J1772) and DC Fast Charging (CCS1 compliant).
RIZON trucks feature an electric preconditioning function to optimize battery temperature in cold weather and include heated driver comfort features such as heated seats and steering wheels.
